Thanks! Very helpful, but I notice that you don’t have a google plus page. Is it worth it? I think if there is no easy plug in for it (they are all pretty bad right now), maybe it is because nobody is using it. I’m going back and forth on it. I have the page, but do I need to publish the fact that I have a page? I can also make my own badge I suppose with the link…

    Hmm, thoughts?

We do have google+ page , the sidebar social box widget has google plus page link . I have mentioned the wordpress plugin for it .

Ah yes, I see the link now (small!) Yeah, I tried that plug in but the size is too big for my side bars and I don’t want to redesign the sites just because of google plus.

I did find a nice solution to it though. I have AdRotate already installed, but that isn’t even needed. I just uploaded an image of google plus icons I found for free, and linked it to my google plus page. I can pick the size so I’m quite happy with that option for now. You can see it on my site swedishfreak.com.

But in any case, great post, very helpful! Even if I was lazy to edit the header.php and came up with a different solution :)

Thank you for the great tutorial! I spent almost an hour trying to figure this out before I came here.

I ended up using the code snippets in my theme, for they allow more customization. I’m glad you included them. Apparently you can choose to make the Google plus badge for either your website or your Google plus page.
